Academy Program.
Empower Your Musical Journey
The Jazz Exchange Academy, created by The Jazz Exchange, is a program designed to transform young musicians aged 11-18. We aim to empower and educate them through music education classes, including improvisation, music theory, small ensemble, and big band. Jazz is the ultimate platform for young individuals to transform into community leaders and global citizens. It empowers them to discover their distinctive voice both on and off the stage, even after they leave The Jazz Exchange Academy. Through partnerships with community mentors and alumni, our program enables the next generation to establish valuable connections, seize opportunities, and thrive in the arts and other diverse fields beyond just performing music on stage.
After AUDITION VIDEOS are submitted, students will receive an email with their class placements, dates, and times. Students are placed into ensembles based on experience level. This email will come a few days after submitting their audition videos. Once students have received their placement email parents can then register the student for the class assigned to them.

Skill-Based Classes
Explore the artistic realm of a musician through a comprehensive experience. Enjoy the thrill of improvisation and be captivated by the rhythms of both small and large ensembles.
Community Concerts
Students will not only learn about this music but will have the opportunity to perform for their community at local gigs.
Jazz Beyond Fronteras
Program
Those who take part in our Academy Program will have the opportunity to prepare for applying to attend a two-week summer workshop on the East Coast with Jazz House Kids, our partners.
Private Lessons
Dedicated instructors are available for students who wish to improve their skills and technique on their instrument. These lessons are offered separately, please ask the staff for more information.

Tuition
$830 -Small Ensembles ( Starting October)
$630 (Starting in January 2024)

All options require:

$100 deposit for small ensembles (to be applied to the registrant’s tuition upon placement) and $200 deposit for Big Band.

$30 Registration Fee (to be applied towards tuition fee)

*Nonrefundable and nontransferable deposit and Registration Fee. The deposit will confirm students' participation. Students will attend the designated time of the class and details and a welcome packet will be given to parents upon arrival.
Audition Guidelines and Submission Information for 2023-2024 ACADEMY PROGRAM.
All auditions will be submitted via YouTube. Students must download and carefully read the 2023 guidelines and audition materials for each instrument.
