Who We Are

The Jazz Exchange is a local El Paso–based nonprofit dedicated to building community through music. Founded by jazz vocalist Candice Reyes and led artistically by saxophonist Abel Mireles, our mission is to create meaningful musical experiences that bring students together, foster creativity, and inspire growth.

We provide a supportive and engaging environment where young musicians—whether beginners or more experienced players—can learn to play an instrument, build confidence, and express themselves. Through ensemble-based learning, students explore rhythm, improvisation, and teamwork while developing strong musical foundations. Our programs go beyond the classroom, offering performance opportunities and real-world experiences that help students thrive both on and off the stage.

New for Fall 2026, The Jazz Exchange is excited to collaborate with Loretto Academy to launch an in-school, after-school band program for their students. More details and information will be shared soon.
